Q: What types of repairs does IESS perform on laptops and PC's?
A:  Our talented staff is capable of performing whatever repair level is necessary to restore your computer to normal operation.

Some examples of repairs IESS performs:

  • Virus, Spyware, or Adware cleanup

Q:  If my DC power jack needs to be replaced, how much will this cost?
A:  Typically this repair costs the customer approximately $100-120, which includes labor, return shipping to your home, and the cost of the part.  At IESS we pride ourselves as the value leader when it comes to price, quality, and turn-around time!

Q:  When sending a laptop or PC to IESS, what type of packaging should I use? 
A:  If you have the OEM box, this would be best.  However, as long as you provide at least 3" of approved packaging material around the entire computer, it should arrive at our facility without any problems.  Regardless of how well the item is packaged, ALWAYS insure the product just in case something out of the ordinary takes place and the item is damaged during transit. 

Q:  Does IESS offer packaging and 3-way shipping?
A:  IESS offers our customers a free laptop shipping box and return shipping label.  This includes a specially designed box, instruction sheet, return shipping label, and the cost to ship your product from your home or business, via UPS Ground services, to our facility.  This would involve sending the empty box to your home; you would insert the defective laptop and the instruction sheet with your contact information inside of the box.  You would then seal the box and take it to your local drop off point.  IESS will receive the product, evaluate it, and contact you with an estimate for the repair.  Upon your approval of the estimate, the product will be repaired, tested thoroughly, cleaned, and returned to you.  For more information about this option, please click here.

Q:  How long will it take IESS to repair my computer once you receive it?
A:  Even though we maintain an inventory of parts, it isn't too uncommon to wait for parts ordered through our extensive list of quality-driven vendors.  We will always strive to adhere to a 48-72 hour turn-around, but on occasions it could take 4-6 business days if the item is on hold for parts.

Q:  Which brands do you service?
A:  IESS provides exceptional repair services for all brands.  The most common brands would include IBM, Lenovo, HP, Compaq, Sony, Gateway, Averatec, Dell, Toshiba, Apple, iBook, Fujitsu, Acer, AST, eMachines, Micron, NEC, Sharp, Sotec, Panasonic, and Winbook - just to name a few.

Q:  Do dealers who ship multiple units to IESS receive any type of discounts?
A:  IESS provides special programs for dealers.  Please contact us for details.

Q:  Will IESS charge me on an hourly basis?
A:  Absolutely not.  We are so confident in our ability to effectively repair your product efficiently and correctly the first time, we charge a minor flat labor rate of $75 for any repair that takes up to an hour to complete, or a flat labor rate of $95 for all repairs that typically take longer.  By utilizing this billing method, you can be assured we will not take advantage of you by padding the hourly charge.

Q:  My computer is running too slow, and I think the problem could be spyware or virus related.  Can IESS correct this problem?
A:  IESS utilizes an assortment of computer maintenance tools to correct spyware and virus related issues, and in many cases can restore proper operation of your computer.
NOTE:  If the amount of spyware is excessive, or a virus has infected too many files, it may be necessary to reformat your hard drive.  With this in mind, we always recommend sending your quick restore disks with the computer for this service.
